The white horses
Come and visit the royal white horses that live in the Royal Stables behind Christiansborg Palace all year round. Stepping into the Royal Stables is like stepping into the 1700s, when the stables were built.
Today, the Royal Family's horses still live in the buildings just as they did 300 years ago. Visit the stables and get an insight into the life and work of the horses for the royal family.
You can also visit the carriage museum, including the golden wedding carriage that was in use for the succession in Denmark in January 2024. And how many stuffed horses have you seen in your life? In the stables you can experience two of them - one dropped dead after running 42 kilometers and the other was Frederik VII's favorite horse! Dive into these stories in the Royal Stables.
In the summer, the royal horses roam freely on pasture - from mid-June to mid-August. During this period they are not to be found in the Royal Stables.
