Wardrobe and storage

There are limited wardrobe facilities and only space for small bags and umbrellas. Large bags, suitcases, strollers, pushchairs and umbrellas are not allowed in The Royal Reception Rooms.

For storage of large bags and suitcases, please refer to nearby storage options available at Segway Tours and Luggage Hero.

Strollers and prams can be parked in the Queen's Gate at your own risk.

Photography

Photography is permitted for private use during your visit to The Royal Reception Rooms, The Royal Kitchen, the Ruins, The Chapel and the Stables. Flashes, lamps and tripods are not allowed.

For commercial or professional photography, permission must be obtained from the palace administration. Please note that special copyrights may apply in connection with works of art for which the artist has lived within the last 70 years. In these cases, the work may not constitute a significant part of the photograph without permission from the copyright holder.

Dogs & pets

Dogs and other pets are not allowed in The Royal Reception Rooms. Guide and service dogs are allowed.

Toilets

The toilets in The Royal Reception Rooms, the Royal Stables and the Ruins are accessible with paid admission. The nearest public restrooms are located at Amagertorv.

Food & drink

It is not allowed to bring and consume food and drinks in The Royal Reception Rooms. It is possible to buy water in the castle shop.

It is not possible to buy food in the area, and packed lunches may not be consumed at the sites. Packed lunches can be enjoyed in Royal Library Garden, which is adjacent to Rigsdagsgården in front of the Danish Parliament, or other outdoor areas.

Parking

There are very limited parking options in the area around Christiansborg, including Slotsholmsgade and along Frederiksholms Kanal. However, it is possible to park in the underground parking garage at BLOX, which is a 5-minute walk from the palace.

Parking on the Ridebanen or in the inner courtyard is only allowed for Christiansborg employees.

Disabled parking

Disabled parking is available at Bertel Thorvaldsens Plads (at the entrance to Thorvaldsens Museum).

Companion

Visitors with disabilities can bring a companion for free upon presentation of a companion card.

Wheelchair and walker access

It is possible to visit all the castle's sites with a walker and wheelchair. Please contact the staff upon arrival for elevator use.

It is possible to borrow a wheelchair and walker by contacting the ticket office.

If you use walking poles, they must be equipped with rubber tips at the bottom.
